The following text accompanied the piece in audio:

1921 - Lawrence Horwitt was born on August 30th

1942 - Aged 21 Lawrence Horwitt joined the US Army to fight in World War Two

1944 - Lawrence Horwitt lost his right leg from the knee down

1945 - World War Two ended

1947 - John A. Bakker was born on May 12th

1950 - Lawrence Horwitt married Winnie Spiegelman on June 23rd

1953 - Lawrence Horwitt and Winnie Horwitt (previously Spiegelman) had their only son registered with the name of John Horwitt on June 10th

1970 - Lawrence Horwitt started working for the Sun Chemical Corporation in New York

1971 - John A. Bakker married Sarah O' Connor on September 26th

1973 - John A. Bakker and Sarah Bakker (previously O'Connor) had their first son registered with the name of John A. Bakker jnr. on March 27th

1974 - John A. Bakker snr. and Sarah Bakker had their second son registered with the name of George Bakker on November 8th. In that same year Lawrence Horwitt and Donald Mattis started work on the electric cigar lighter

1975 - John A. Bakker snr. started working for Illinois Toolworks Incorporated in Chigago

1977 - John A. Bakker snr and Sarah Bakker had their first daughter registered with the name of Hannah Bakker on May 9th

1978 - Lawrence Horwitt and Donald Mattis filed a US patent for the electric cigar lighter on October 10th

1979 - John A. Bakker snr. started work on the cord lock

1982 - John A. Bakker snr. filed a US patent for the cord lock on August 30th

1984 - Lawrence Horwitt and Winnie Horwitt's son John Horwitt married Anne Carson

1985 - John Horwitt and Anne Horwitt (previously Carson) had their first son registered with the name of Harry Horwitt on January 31st

1988 - John A. Bakker snr. died in a car crash at the age of 45. The accident was caused when a fire broke out in his car due to a faulty electric cigar lighter invented and US patented in 1978 by Lawrence Horwitt and Donald Mattis

1990 - Harry Horwitt son of John Horwitt and Anne Horwitt, and grandson of Lawrence Horwitt and Winnie Horwitt died at the age of 5 after choking on a cord lock invented by John A. Bakker snr. and US patented in 1982
